Good news! The water boil order for Central Elementary and South Putnam MS/HS has been lifted. Therefore, we will resume normal operations tomorrow, Monday, August 29th.
South Putnam Community School Corporation would like to ask your opinion on having an elementary school-age child care program available to support families with Before or After School Care. This process includes several different areas in which the District will research associated costs of the program, the level of interest from families, and available resources to offer the program. Late this afternoon, near the end of the school day, the water main feeding South Putnam Middle School/High School and Central Elementary was breached, yet again, by gas pipeline construction crews across from the main campus on US Highway 40.
As of this notification, we are still planning on a regular day of school tomorrow, just with water boil order precautions in place. Our food services director and cafeteria staff have already made adjustments to accommodate the boil order, but please feel free to send a bottle of water with your student tomorrow.
We will keep you posted if anything should change.

Terri received the Indiana Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) School Support Professional of the Year Award at the IASBO conference in French Lick, Indiana. Selected by her peers, this award symbolizes Terri’s dedication to the profession of school business management.
Terri’s role is vital in the daily operations at South Putnam. It is awesome that the IASBO professionals throughout Indiana have also seen her tremendous talents and contributions to the business of education.

Mrs. Gardner has been named the Indiana Association of School Principals District 8 Assistant Principal of the Year!
Mrs. Gardner is in her 22nd year in education, all at SP, and currently serves as the Associate Principal for the MS & HS.
Congratulations to Mr. Levi Yowell on being chosen as the IASP District 8 High School Principal of the Year!
This is Mr. Yowell's third year as our principal at South Putnam. In that time he has led us through the most difficult time ever in education. We not only made it through; we are stronger. His energy and ideas are abundant, contagious and transformative! He knows students by name, and no issue is too small or too big for his attention and concern. The many awards students have received this year show that our students are thriving. We are so glad he is an Eagle!

Kindergarten Round Up for the 2022 - 2023 school year is quickly approaching! Fillmore Elementary Kindergarten Round Up is scheduled for Tuesday, April 5th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and Central Elementary Kindergarten Round Up is scheduled for Thursday, April 7th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.
Spring Break is March 21 - 25. No school in session. Enjoy!
