Save the date for the South Putnam Fall Concert. Wednesday October 12th at 7:30 pm. Our students have worked very hard and can't wait to show off what they have learned.
Great news! South Putnam has partnered with the YMCA to provide an after-school child care program for our K-5 elementary students. Details to follow soon. But first, the YMCA needs to staff the program. If you know of anyone who may be interested in working with our elementary students in a structured after-school program, please see the flyer attached or email Michaela Sinclair at email@example.com
At South Putnam Community School Corporation, we Focus On Learning by ensuring that All Staff and Students Learn at High Levels. Reminder: As previously scheduled, tomorrow, Friday, September 23rd, all students will be OFF CAMPUS participating in eLearning activities while their teachers and administrators are engaged in professional development activities. Therefore, buses WILL NOT be running tomorrow. Thank you for your continued support as we strive for continuous improvement at every level at South Putnam Schools.
Good news! The water boil order for Central Elementary and South Putnam MS/HS has been lifted. Therefore, we will resume normal operations tomorrow, Monday, August 29th.
South Putnam Community School Corporation would like to ask your opinion on having an elementary school-age child care program available to support families with Before or After School Care. This process includes several different areas in which the District will research associated costs of the program, the level of interest from families, and available resources to offer the program. Please take some time to fill out this brief survey, which should take about 1-2 minutes. https://forms.gle/kaxYnGPDEHdb4eq17 Thank you for your input!
Late this afternoon, near the end of the school day, the water main feeding South Putnam Middle School/High School and Central Elementary was breached, yet again, by gas pipeline construction crews across from the main campus on US Highway 40. As of this notification, we are still planning on a regular day of school tomorrow, just with water boil order precautions in place. Our food services director and cafeteria staff have already made adjustments to accommodate the boil order, but please feel free to send a bottle of water with your student tomorrow. We will keep you posted if anything should change.
The water boil order was officially lifted this afternoon; therefore, we will return to normal operations at South Putnam MS/HS and Central Elementary tomorrow, Thursday, August 11th. Thank you for your flexibility and understanding as we worked our way through the situation. Have a great evening, Eagles!
All we had to say was "bacon and free stuff" to get all our staff here early! Thank you to Honeysuckle Hill Beestro and our vendors for fueling our teachers and staff yesterday!
Unfortunately, due to a water main breach on Saturday by gas pipeline construction crews on 231, the middle school, high school, and Central Elementary will be on a water boil alert tomorrow, Tuesday, August 9th, our first student day. Our food service director has made adjustments to accommodate the boil order, but feel free to send a bottle of water with your student tomorrow. We will keep you posted if anything should change.

Congratulations to Terri Beasley, South Putnam’s Business Coordinator and Executive Secretary to the Superintendent. Terri received the Indiana Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) School Support Professional of the Year Award at the IASBO conference in French Lick, Indiana. It is awesome that the IASBO professionals throughout Indiana have also seen her tremendous talents and contributions to the business of education. Congratulations, Terri, a very well-deserved honor! #EaglePride
CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs. Gardner!!! Mrs. Gardner has been named the Indiana Association of School Principals District 8 Assistant Principal of the Year! Mrs. Gardner is in her 22nd year in education, all at SP, and currently serves as the Associate Principal for the MS & HS.
Congratulations to Mr. Levi Yowell on being chosen as the IASP District 8 High School Principal of the Year! This is Mr. Yowell's third year as our principal at South Putnam. In that time he has led us through the most difficult time ever in education. We not only made it through; we are stronger. His energy and ideas are abundant, contagious and transformative! He knows students by name, and no issue is too small or too big for his attention and concern. The many awards students have received this year show that our students are thriving. We are so glad he is an Eagle! Thank you Mr. Yowell! Congratulations!
